This is the common one in NJ. It has small flowers. If large flowers then E. hirsutum.
The only other small flowered NJ Epilbium sp. is E. ciliatum. It has very small or no teeth, sessile leaves, leaves not more than 3 times as long as wide, underside veins not easily seen, leaves not wrinkled along the veins, leaves never gray-ish, leaves never marked with purple, hairs on the fruit never brown, flower buds never pointed. It is quite rare here.
